The present
annual turnover of JIL is over Rs. 1,700 crore (US$ 370 million).
JIL owns construction plants, machinery and equipment worth over
Rs. 890 crore (US$ 190 million) and has work force of over 30,000
including engineers, managers, administrators, foremen, supervisors,
operators, technicians, skilled and unskilled workers.
JIL
has been assigned “CR 1” grade by ICRA Ltd indicating Very Strong
Contract Execution Capacity with best prospects of timely completion of
projects without cost overruns, etc.
(b)
Jaypee Cement Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of JIL is
producing quality cement (both OPC and PPC) at its three plants
having an aggregate production capacity of 5 million tones per annum.
The annual turn over of this company is over Rs. 1000 crores (US $ 220
million) and the company has acquired specialization in setting up
efficient cement plants in an economic manner in minimum possible time and
operating the same.
(c) Jaiprakash Hydro Power Ltd (JHPL),
Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd. (JPVL) and Jaypee Karcham Hydro
Corporation Ltd. (JKHCL) are the three subsidiaries of JIL
for development of Baspa-II Hydroelectric Project (300 MW) in Himachal
Pradesh, Vishnuprayag Hydroelectric Project (400 MW) in Uttaranchal and
Karcham Wangtoo Hydroelectric Project (1000 MW) in Himachal Pradesh
respectively on Build Own Operate basis in private sector. While 300
MW Baspa II Project has already been commissioned in June, 2003, 400 MW
Vishnuprayag Project and 1,000 MW Karcham Wangtoo Project are scheduled to
be commissioned in the year 2006 and 2009 respectively and the works are
progressing accordingly.
(d) Jaypee Ventures Limited (JVL)
of the
group is an engineering design and consultancy organization having
capabilities for project design from concept to completion. It has
multi-disciplinary state of the art CAD facilities for design of
various components of the project along with planning, scheduling and
monitoring of its execution. It is presently handling detailed engineering
work for four hydropower projects involving two barrages, two
concrete dams and four underground powerhouses and one surface power
house having an aggregate capacity of 3120 MW.
JVL
has been assigned “CT 1” grade by ICRA Ltd. Indicating Very Strong
Project Engineering Capacity with highest prospects of good technical
design services, etc.
